Repeat the process in other locations around the tire groove, at least 15 inches apart. 5. Measure the inner and outer grooves as well. 6. Average all readings. 7. Compare the remaining tread depth to the original depth to determine wear percentage. 8. In case of uneven wear, consult a tire specialist.
